ABOUT
Hello!
My name is Roland and I grew up in a military family, moving around the East coast before finally settling down in West Virginia. After college I moved for graduate school, first to Radford, Virginia and then Cincinnati, OH. Later, I was commissioned by the U.S. Army as a Behavioral Health Officer where I was stationed in Augusta, GA. I have lived in the Twin Cities, MN metro area since 2012. Since moving to Minnesota, I have been very active with Team RWB and The Mission Continues. My unexpected and difficult transition out of active duty military life (and back to civilian life) was shared by Twin Cities PBS and you can view that here.
I realized my love for helping others in 1998 when working for Timberline Health Group in southern West Virginia. I worked to create behavior management plans for families with troubled adolescents. That job taught me two things. First, what it says in the book and what happens in real life are often very different. And second, that I truly loved helping people break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable ones and working with them to make their lives better. Since then I have continuously worked with individuals and organizations to do just that.
